RACER INSTRUCTIONS

Course (6k = 3.7 miles)

The 6k starts and ends at Gilbert’s Freestone District Park with an out and back route along Western Powerline Trail. It’s a flat, mainly packed gravel trail with only one street crossing. Note: there is a total road closure.

Registration

Participants are invited to pre-register on-line or using the mail in form. Late registration is available on-site and at advance packet pickup.  The first 2000 race entries received will receive limited edition 12k’s of Christmas running socks and NEW THIS YEAR  to celebrate our 5th anniversary the first 2000 will also receive 12k's of Christmas Arm Warmers!

Advance Packet Pickup

Race numbers and registration packets will be available on Thursday December 12 at Roadrunner Sports in Tempe from 3 pm to 8 pm. (Yes, you can pick up packets for other runners. Just bring all their information, including sock size!)  Packet pickup will also be available the morning of the event between 7:30 and 9:30 am.

Run/Walk Information

The 6k will begin at 10:18. Pets are welcome, but dog-owners will be asked to line up in the back of the pack.  Water Stations will be at 1.5k/10.5k and 3k with water for you and your dogs. There is a porta-pottie at Val Vista road.  
First Aid is at the start / finish line in the park. After you finish, drop by Santa’s Food Court for beverages and snacks from Albertsons.

Awards

Medal presentations will begin at 11:30 am with medals for the 1st through 3rd place finishers in each age category, and a special gift for our fastest Male and fastest Female. There will also be “judges” awards for the Most Christmas Spirit (Male and Female), Best Christmas-themed Running Outfit and Best Dressed Pet. The Judges Parade presented by Printing Specialists between 8:30 and 10 am.Prize winners can pick up their gifts from under the Christmas tree any time after the race. A list of winners will be posted.

NEW in 2013: There will be a special gift for the first 3 runners who cross the finish line with their furry friend!

Transfer & Refund Policies

All participant entries are non-transferable and there are no refunds. You may not transfer or sell your race number to another person. We do not offer a deferral to next year event or another event in the series. There are no exceptions to this policy unless approved by race organizer.
